Two drivers in Lancashire have been arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to supply.
Lancashire Police stopped a Volkswagen T-Roc car on Rose Lane in the Holme Slack area of Preston yesterday (March 12) due to the manner it was being driven.
A rucksack was seen on the back seat after the driver was spoken to and following a search, bags of cannabis valued at approximately £14,000 were found.
A roadside drug swipe was carried out on the driver which tested positive for cannabis.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Penwortham, was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and driving with excess drugs.
He has since been released on bail and the brand-new vehicle he was driving, which belonged to his mother, has been retained by the police.
A second stop was carried out at 2.30pm on County Road, Ormskirk, where the driver admitted to having drugs – wraps of what is believed to be cocaine were found in the car.
A 55-year-old man from Burscough was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and taken into custody.
He has since been released under investigation.
