Children have been enjoying free activities put on at an East Lancs shopping centre this Easter, and there are still events taking place in the remaining days of the holidays.

The Mall in Blackburn has so far seen little artists attending their free programme of activities create snake mobiles and wild animal masks, and there are more crafting sessions to come in 3D lizards, parrot puppets, and elephant blowers.

There will also be a chance for visitors to meet wild animal puppets in the remaining activities, including a chimp, a sloth, a dodo, and a sabretooth tiger, or they can get up close and personal with larger animals such as a mammoth, a gorilla, an orangutang, a panda, and a tortoise.

Schedule of remaining activities

  • Thursday, April 13 – parrot puppet workshop
  • Friday, April 14 – wild animals meet and greet
  • Saturday, April 15 – elephant blower workshop

Loraine Jones, general manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “Our free Easter activities have been super busy so far - with lots more fun set for the days ahead!

“It has been lovely seeing children wearing their wild animal masks today, everyone has done a great job!

“We’re really looking forward to seeing all the other fabulous models and crafts this week and, of course, we cannot wait to welcome some amazing animals on Friday!”

Activities are taking place every day from 11am until 4pm in the unit between Poundbakery and Muffin Break. The event is free of charge.
