A popular bistro which closed suddenly in January will be opening this month under new management.
The former Kingfisher Bistro on the waterside at Reedley Marina, just off Barden Lane will be opening again but under the new name The Swan and Goose Bar and Kitchen.
Kingfisher bistro closed suddenly in January, much to the shock of loyal customers.
The business will be operated under the new management of Peter Davis and Matthew Earnshaw.
Peter said: "The venue is set within a truly beautiful part of the town, overlooking Reedley Marina with views towards Pendle Hill and the abutting countryside.
"It was an obvious choice for us to throw out names into the reckoning for it truly is an absolute gem of a venue.
"We genuinely cannot wait to open the doors to the public and let them enjoy the food, the drink and the service here at the Swan & Goose and we genuinely hope the great people of Burnley and beyond enjoy their visits here."
Formerly, Peter and Matt operated at Finsley Gate Wharf as general manager and head chef respectively and will be operating in matching roles at the Swan and Goose.
Since acquiring the business, Peter and Matthew have undertaken a large number of cosmetic improvements such as redecoration both internally and externally, new signage on the building and also on the entrance to the site on Barden Lane.
The venue has been rebranded in order to create what Peter says is a 'modern, crisp new image whilst retaining a sense of attachment to our location at Reedley Marina'.
The menu is best described as a modern-British selection of food, with something for everyone - including vegetarian and vegan options and children's meals - and will all be freshly prepared and cooked.
There will also be a wide range of beverages available, from speciality brands of coffee and loose-leaf tea to a great choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
The business will be open six days a week, with food served between midday and 7pm.
The owners were hoping to be open for the Easter weekend but unfortunately, due to ‘administrative issues’ it was not possible.
The official opening date will be confirmed later this month.
