A man has been in court, accused of historic sexual abuse of a child.

Amir Menor, of no fixed abode, appeared in Blackburn Magistrates Court on Thursday (April 6), on suspicion of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration.

The allegations put forward are alleged to have been committed about 10 years ago.

Menor gave no indication of a plea and as an indictable only offence, his case has been referred to the crown court.

Menor, 34, will appear in Preston Crown Court on May 4 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

No application for bail was made and Menor has been remanded into custody where he will remain until his next hearing.
