A trailer has been released for a new TV wedding show that was filmed in East Lancashire

Wedding Valley is set to air on the W channel on Wednesday, April 12.

The 10-part series takes an in-depth look at the thriving wedding industry of the Ribble Valley, which has become a hotspot for nuptial celebrations.

With a stunning, rural backdrop, and a huge concentration and variety of wedding venues in one small area, it's attracted a thriving community of cake makers, florists, dress shops and stylists.

Many local businesses have taken part in the series including Amanda Waddington, who owns Caked In It in Accrington.

She cannot wait to show the work that goes on behind the scenes when cake-making.

Another baker Leanne Cawtherley, who owns The Sweetest Thing Cakery in Accrington, will also feature.

Leanne says camera crews spent five months following her as she created wedding cakes for couples.

Leanne said she made cakes for around 10 different weddings during filming.

Amelia's, a bridal boutique in Clitheroe, is also set to make an appearance.

The new Wedding Valley trailer also gives us a sneak peek at locations that will feature in the show, including Eaves Hall in West Bradford and The Outbarn at Clough Bottom.

The trailer also states that ‘disaster is never far away’ on the show, showing clips of hastily assembled cakes and dropped crockery.

Produced by Little Gem, Wedding Valley will document the highs and lows of some of the 1,500 weddings that took place during the 2022 wedding season.

Each episode takes viewers through a typical week in peak wedding season, and all of the passion, drama and hard work that goes into making each couple's wedding dreams a reality.

W's channel director, Adam Collings, said: “As a channel that delights in showing life's authentic and unfiltered moments, I'm thrilled to introduce W viewers to Wedding Valley.

“While 'the big day' only lasts 24 hours for the varied range of couples, it's a way of life for the companies, teams and families that work tirelessly to deliver them.

“We can't wait to meet them all and see their perspective of these life-changing moments.”

Kirsty Hanson, UKTV commissioning editor, said: “The Ribble Valley is the UK's wedding hotspot and with its warm and talented wedding-obsessed workforce it is the most perfect place to set a wedding series for W.

“Love is most definitely in the air in Wedding Valley, but so is professional pride and competition, and the series will give viewers a unique insight into all the drama of the wedding industry.”

Natasha Bondy, Little Gem creative director, said: “We're delighted to be working with UKTV on bringing Ribble Valley's stunning scenery, and dramatic and diverse wedding stories to W viewers.

“Our amazing cast are hard-working and heart-warming and we can't wait for everyone to see what a fun, warm and compelling show Wedding Valley is set to be.”

The series starts at 9pm on April 12 on W with all episodes available to stream for free on UKTV Play.
