Police are appealing for witnesses after a person died in a crash which closed a road for several hours.

Greater Manchester Police and other emergency services were called to Darwen Road in Bromley Cross on Thursday at 11.49am. 

The crash, between two cars, left one person dead and another two seriously injured.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "We are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision in Bolton.

"Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the road traffic accident that occurred on Darwen Road, Bolton on Thursday March 30 at 11.49am.

"The collision left one deceased and two others seriously injured.

"Officers are now asking for witnesses to the collision and for any available dashcam, CCTV and doorbell footage to be submitted."

Sergeant Phillip Collingwood of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This was an extremely tragic incident in which someone has lost their life and two others have sustained serious injuries.

“Our thoughts remain with the families affected who are being supported by specialist officers.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
