Darwen Food and Drink Festival, Easter Sunday and bank holiday Monday
A popular food and drink festival is returning to Darwen this Easter weekend.
The annual event is hosted and organised independently by Darwen Bars and Leisure and will be held on Sunday, April 9 to Monday, April 10.
Located on the town’s market square, the festival will start at 10am until 10pm on both days.
The event brings together a cocktail of different food and cuisines to try from all over the world and sees a host of local businesses and artists come together.
Funfair at Blackburn’s Witton Country Park, every day until April 16
Blackburn’s Easter Fair kicked off at Witton Country Park on Friday, March 31, and is the perfect place to take the family this Easter weekend.
The funfair will be on until Sunday, April 16, with more than 50 rides and attractions.
New for this year is the 'Tagada'. The attraction features a giant spinning drum, with riders sat around the outside and a random sequence of bouncing movements.
The ride is described as a “test of endurance but a lot of fun” and no two rides are the same.
The tallest ride on the fair this year will be the 'Freak Out', a giant swinging ‘claw’ that spins passengers up to 21 metres, nearly 70 feet, into the sky.
Thrill-seekers can also enjoy the 'Fighter', back by popular demand and 'Joker'.
More family-friendly attractions include the fun house, dodgems, waltzers, helter skelter and other children’s rides.
Opening times are from 12pm until 9pm, until Sunday, April 16.
Entry to the fair will be free at all times, and there is a large car park on site, for which the council charges a small fee.
Attractions start at £2.50 for kids rides and from £3 for big rides.

The truck run will start at Gisburn Auction Mart at 1pm going onto Chatburn, Billington, Whalley, Barrow and Clitheroe, with two laps around Clitheroe, ending at Clitheroe Hospital.
Not only are the Ribble Valley Truck Run team hosting the event, but they will also be selling car air fresheners to raise money and are going to be giving out cream eggs and Easter eggs to young children watching.
