Two businessmen, who opened a mini golf course in Lancashire last year, are set to make a television appearance later this week as they bid for a financial investment.
Phil Pinder and Ben Fry, who opened an immersive wizard golf attraction called ‘The Hole in Wand’ in Blackpool last year, are set to appear on BBC show Dragons' Den this Thursday (March 23).
They will attempt to persuade the show’s multi-millionaire ‘Dragons’, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones and Steven Bartlett to invest in a new magical golf course.
On the teaser trailer Peter, can be heard saying: “These guys are wizards. They can do whatever they want when it comes to business.”
The Hole in Wand is a mini golf attraction on the promenade but it’s not the usual kind with the addition of weird and wonderful ‘historically-accurate’ smells and potions.
The mini golf venue gives players a unique experience with both the smells and the way they have to get around.
Players have to crawl through fireplaces, walk into giant portraits or drink sparkling potions during their visit to both the Blackpool and York venues.
In October 2018, the businessmen opened ‘The Potions Cauldron’ in Shambles, York, followed by the debut ‘The Hole in Wand York’ wizard golf attraction in May 2021.
Their ‘The Potions Express’ opened at York Train Station selling drinks, snacks and magical gifts in January 2022 before the duo expanded into Blackpool
To find out whether the pair succeed in their bid watch Dragons’ Den on BBC One at 8pm on Thursday, March 23.
