Update: The vehicles involved have been recovered and both lanes have reopened.
Two lanes have been closed following a crash on the M66 near Ramsbottom.
Traffic is queuing after a multi-vehicle crash on the M66 southbound carriageway between junctions two and three.

Emergency services have closed lane two and three are closed and there are currently delays fo 30 minutes expected against traffic.
National Highways: North West states: “Lanes 2 and 3 of (3) are closed on the M66 southbound between J2 and J3 near Bury following a multiple-vehicle collision.
“Traffic officers are on scene, and recovery agents are enroute. Please allow extra time for your journey as there are delays of 30 minutes on the approach.”
A spokesperson for Traffic Delays website said: “The M66 southbound between junctions J2 and J3. Lanes 2 and 3 are closed.”
A spokesperson for the traffic website, INRIX, said: “Queueing traffic, two lanes closed and delays due to crash, a single car involved on M66 Southbound from J2 A58 Rochdale Road (Bury) to J3 Pilsworth Road (Hollins). Causing delays northbound as traffic slows to look.”
Police have been contacted for a comment.
