An East Lancs bowling club is offering free coaching sessions in a bid to bring in new members.
Anthony Brookes, development manager at Great Harwood Bowling Club, is training to become a level one coach and will be putting on the free sessions as part of his qualification.
The first of these sessions will be on Saturday, April 1, at the club’s Lowerfold Park base in Great Harwood.
Michael Gerrard, club secretary, said: “You can’t coach people without being an approved coach. We’ve got Anthony Brookes who is training to be a level 1 coach, so he’s doing some free sessions as part of the qualification.
“It’s also about getting new members. We’re having a pavilion re-fit by the council so we’ll have far better facilities than we’ve had in the past.
“They’re going to be a regular thing. There will be more sessions but we’re yet to decide when they will be.
“It’s a great way to make friends and get a bit of exercise.”
Anyone interested in taking part in the sessions and potentially joining the club should contact Anthony on anthonybrookes1@yahoo.co.uk
