A man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with the murder of Charlotte Wilcock.
The body of Miss Wilcock, 31, was found by police at her address on Primrose Terrace, Mill Hill, on Saturday.
Anthony William Stinson, 30, of Queen Victoria Street, Mill Hill, made a brief appearance before Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Monday morning.
He spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
He appeared in handcuffs following an application by prosecutor Bilal Saeed which was granted by District Judge Alexandra Preston because of the nature and circumstances of the alleged offence.
Outlining the case, Mr Saeed said the police received a phone call from Stinson at 7.53am on Saturday.
Miss Wilcock’s body was found in the vestibule area of her house. She had injuries to her head and her throat had been slit.

Stinson, wearing police issue grey sweat shirt and joggers, was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on Wednesday.
