A popular and established Indian restaurant in Whalley will be opening a new takeaway in Accrington.

Syed Uddin, 49, from Accrington, owner of Trishna of Whalley will be opening his all-new takeaway Trishna at Accrington, bringing the quality from his restaurant into a takeaway.

Trishna at Accrington will be opening soon offering the community a spin on a normal takeaway, in the shape of authentic street food.

Speaking about his new venture, Syed said: “I decided to open a new takeaway in Accrington because its closer to home and I just wanted to put something different into Accrington.

“My idea is to open a few restaurants and takeaways all over Accrington, Blackburn and all the neighbouring towns.

“I feel a bit nervous to be opening because Accrington is a different kettle of fish to Whalley, there is a lot of competition in Accrington so I just thought I’d give myself a challenge.

“I’m trying to bring something new into Accrington, it’s not just another takeaway. We will be selling just Indian street food, there is a quirkiness to the style of cooking, it’s very different.

“The menu itself isn’t just the run of the mill chicken curry or chicken madras, we do special items like samosa chaats and proper authentic street foods like kebabs, offering a different take on it.

“We feel customers are a bit bored of eating the same things, they want different, so another thing we are introducing is pizzas on a naan bread, curry flavoured.

“It’s putting a spin on Italian pizzas and making them Indian.

“I am trying to amaze customers really with the new style of things.”

Syed said the takeaway has already gone live online offering delivery and the response has been fantastic.

He said: “I have gone live online, just to test the water, and I have had good reviews, six-star reviews and people love the curries and the food, so it is looking promising.”

Syed said he is trying to give the best of both worlds, offering East Lancashire a restaurant and a takeaway.

He said: “I am just trying to give the best of both worlds, bringing the restaurant quality into a takeaway.

“Our restaurant is a family-run business which has been trading for 35 years, so now we are just trying to bring something new.

“Not everyone can get to a restaurant so could be missing out so I thought I would downsize and still offer customers a restaurant quality.”

The new takeaway is based at Whalley Road, Accrington, and it is currently trading where Healthy Spice is, with new signs being put up soon.

The eatery will be open on the weekends from 4pm to 11pm and on weekdays it will be open 4.30pm to 11pm with Tuesdays closed.
