A driver has been arrested in Bacup for testing positive on a drugs test.
In the early hours of Saturday (February 18), officers followed a vehicle that was speeding through Bacup town centre before being stopped for a drugs test.
The driver blew under the legal limit for alcohol but failed the roadside test for cannabis.
He was arrested as a result.
A spokesperson for the police said: “In the early hours of yesterday morning, officers from your Rural Task Force sighted a vehicle travelling at high speed through Bacup town centre towards Todmorden.
“Officers have caught up with the vehicle, where they spoke with the driver who blew just under the legal limit of 33 micrograms, but unfortunately for him failed the roadside drug wipe for cannabis and was subsequently arrested for drug driving.
“We are committed to making our roads safer and will tackle those individuals who think that this is acceptable and put them before the courts.”
