A teenage boy has been arrested and a forensic tent erected in a Lancashire park following reports of a rape.
Police were called to Astley Park in Chorley at around 11.15pm yesterday (Friday February 3) after receiving reports that a teenage girl had been raped.
Following enquiries, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in the park on suspicion of rape and is currently in police custody.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called at 11.13pm yesterday (February 3) to a report that a teenage girl had been raped in Astley Park, Chorley.
"Following enquiries, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in the park on suspicion of rape and is currently in custody.
"The girl and her family are being supported by specially trained police officers."
A white forensic tent has been erected at Astley Park while police carry out further investigations.
