IT’S that time when we celebrate some of the finest venues in Bolton for our ‘Pub of the Week’ feature.

Give us some history about the pub:
The pub opened in the mid 1800s and has under gone massive changes over the years, with the bar moving positions and the pub extending back into what was once living accommodation. The pub has always been a local pub for the people of Horwich, with the tradition being passed on through generations. A lot of the current regulars’ parents and grandparents used to drink in the pub.

Food is not served
Is there a beer garden?
The pub has a two tiered beer garden to the rear of the building
Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?
We currently have one darts team which play from here but are looking at setting up another and a pool team.

Cask ales is very popular with regulars
Most memorable moment at the pub:
Hearing the positive feed back we continue to receive from all customers
Do you have an entertainment line-up?
Every Saturday evening we have either live singers or a DJ but try to do more singers
Have you faced any challenges within the industry?
Up to now we have been very lucky and not really faced too many challenges, as with every pub finding ways to attract new clientele is always slightly difficult especially with the challenges everyone is facing financially

The best thing is knowing that all customers feel safe and happy whilst in the pub and all leave having had a brilliant time.
