A road on the A59 in Balderstone is closed this morning (February 3) after a crash.
Myerscough Smithy Road is closed in both directions and police anticipate that it will be “closed for some time”.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash at around 5.35am and say they are currently at the incident.
The AA traffic news website said there is “heavy traffic” on the road, between A677 Preston New Road and the Thwaites roundabout.
Police have promised to provide an update once it has reopened.
The North West Ambulance Service say two ambulance and an advanced paramedic were in attendance. One person has been taken to hospital.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called around 5.35am today (Friday, February 3) to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A59, Myerscough Smithy Road in Balderstone.
“The road is closed due to a road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.
“We’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.
A spokesperson for the AA said: “Road closed and heavy traffic due to crash on A59 Myerscough Smithy Road both ways between A677 Preston New Road and A59 (Thwaites roundabout).”
