Entry for the Chorley 10k event is open now and everyone of all abilities is welcome.
The race will be taking place on Sunday, May 7 alongside the Chorley Family Run event.
The Chorley 10k is a two-lap course which starts on Market Street in Chorley town centre.
After getting to enjoy the views of Astley Coach House and the historic Astley Hall, participants will then run over the lake bridge, past the playing fields and play areas, running towards Astley Park’s main gates.
At the gates, participants will turn left onto Park Road and will run up to the junction with the A6 Preston Road where they will turn and travel back down Park Road, on the opposite side of the road.
They will then run past Chorley town hall, turn right onto St Thomas’s Road and repeat the course. On the second lap runners will continue down Market Street and through the finish line where each person will receive a medal for completing the run.
People of all abilities are welcoming, including runners with prams although participants have to be at least 15 years old.
The event kicks of at 10.30am on the Sunday. The standard entry fee is £22 or £20 for UKA Club Runners.
A spokesperson for Chorley Council said: "The event will be returning to Chorley on Sunday 7 May and includes the 2K Family Fun Run!
"As usual, alongside the event we'll be hosting an incredible run village.
