An ex-Great Britain boxer and his accomplice robbed a man, driving him 12 miles to Pendle Hill, before demanding he 'strip off so they could take photos of him'.
Former boxer Moeen Khan, 24, and Qahher Hameed, 19, have been jailed after robbing Zoaib Mohammed of his car, phone and £60 in cash.
Prosecuting at Preston Crown Court on Monday, Mercedeh Jabbari said in the early hours of January 15, 2022, Samuel Perry was driving near Pendle Hill when he was stopped by Mr Mohammed who said he 'had just been kidnapped and his car stolen'.
Mr Perry picked up Mr Mohammed and they tried to follow his car but it was being driven too quickly and got away.
During this time, Mr Mohammed used Mr Perry’s phone to call the police.
Mr Mohammed told officers about how he had added an account on Snapchat to try and buy some THC – the psychoactive constituent of cannabis.
The account asked him to go to Columbia Way in Blackburn at 11pm at night on January 14 and when he arrived, two men got in his car.
Ms Jabbari said: “They told him to drive to another location.
“He started to drive and the two men started assaulting him, punching him and made threats to stab him.
“One was wearing a balaclava and one in a surgical mask.
“No knife was seen by the victim but the men had a hammer.
“The men told Mr Mohammed it was a kidnap.”
Khan got into the driver's side and drove off at speed with the victim in the car.
The car was driven to the top of Pendle Hill where Khan and Hameed told Mr Mohammed to ‘strip off’ and they would take photos.
Mr Mohammed managed to escape the men and ran away.
The car was found shortly after by police close to Columbia Way with the defendants arrested after being found in a forest area near Khan’s address in Ontario Close, also in Blackburn.
Roger Brown, mitigating, said Khan suffers from mental health difficulties and it could not be determined if these did not impact his thinking on that night.
Khan pleaded guilty to robbery, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
David Morton, for Hameed, of Country Mews, Blackburn, said he was a young man, aged 18 at the time of the Pendle Hill robbery, and 17 at the time of a second robbery which he was also sentenced for.
Mr Morton said Hameed did not want to appear before the courts again and his family are supportive but shocked by what he has done.
Hameed pleaded guilty to his involvement in the robbery, as well as a robbery he committed on October 22, 2021.
The pair were originally charged with kidnap however the charges were later dropped by the prosecution.
Judge Phillip Parry jailed Khan for three years and nine months and Hameed for three years and six months.
