Eight people have received tickets after parking on double yellow lines and in restricted areas.

Police in Padiham worked with Lancashire County Council parking wardens and Cllr Hosker and Cllr McGowan to combat the ongoing issue relating to parking on double yellows and in restricted areas around Burnley Road.

The behaviour was highlighted to officers due to the sheer volume of cars parked inappropriately, particularly in the evening.

Overall, eight tickets were handed out and a number of local businesses engaged and were encouraged to take more responsibility for the way their customer's park.

A spokesperson for the police said: “As you can appreciate, we cannot be on every street monitoring parking 24/7 however we will listen to the community and if an issue is raised, we will try to act upon it in the most appropriate way possible, with partner agencies if necessary.”
