A cannabis farm has been found following a raid earlier this week.

On Tuesday (January 24), officers in Accrington uncovered a substantial cannabis grow, with investigations ongoing.

The bust came following tip-offs from the public, with police gaining entry and finding 40 cannabis plants in the early stages of growth.

Evidence was also found that the electricity had been bypassed, which was causing a serious fire risk.

Sergeant Carl McCoy said: “I would like to thank the members of the public that sent us the information, it is thanks to this intel that we have been able to dismantle this cultivation.

“We do not tolerate drug crime and will continue to tackle it as it has a dramatic effect on our communities, and can ruin lives, fuel other crimes, and instil fear within our neighbourhoods.

“We urge the public to continue to work with us to help us tackle drug crime by informing us of any suspicious activity.”

Operation Warrior is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire and delivering on Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden's Fighting Crime Plan priority of disrupting and dismantling organised crime.

Operation Warrior targets the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
