Beer connoisseur and passionate pub campaigner, Mark gives us his decision on the tastiest beer he has sampled in the last seven days.
This week’s selected beer highlight comes courtesy of Macclesfield-based Storm Brewing Company.
It was a brewery that I hadn’t been aware of previously. So I was keen to sample what they had to offer.
Their Bosley Cloud ale was on dispense - and it certainly didn’t disappoint. A golden ale style beer with, not surprisingly, a golden coloured, slightly hazy presentation and white, fluffy head.
The beer had a well-balanced aroma of bready malt, tropical fruit and floral notes.
The taste had more bready malt and floral flavours, in addition to some light, pineapple fruitiness, grassy and mild, honey sweetness.
Floral, pineapple and tangy, leafy hops featured in the lingering , drying, bittersweet finish.
A very well-balanced, multi-flavoured and thirst-quenching beer. I was most impressed with my first taste of a Storm Brewing ale. A beer in exceptional condition at The Dog Inn, Longridge.
