A persistent shoplifter has been jailed just weeks after receiving a 'CRIMBO' from police.

After breaching the criminal behaviour order four times, Moazam Ali, of Leyland Road, Burnley, has been jailed for 12 weeks.

Earlier this month, police issued Ali with a criminal behaviour order for shoplifting in Burnley town centre.

Since then, officers have been able to gather evidence and arrest Ali for four breaches of that order.

Last week he was jailed by magistrates.

A spokesperson for the police said: "You may remember earlier in the month we posted about a persistent shoplifter being issued a Criminal Behaviour Order.

"After breaching his order by four occasions, Moazam Ali of Leyland Road Burnley, has been issued with a 12 week custodial sentence.

"Between officers from our neighbourhood policing and response teams we have gathered evidence and arrested Ali for all four breaches.

"We continue to target our most prolific offenders and place them before the courts.

"Thank you again for your continued support."
