Police enforced a dispersal order last night, Saturday, following incidents of anti-social behaviour in Chorley town centre.
Chorley police said officers dealt with incidents of "disgraceful behaviour" and disruption to businesses and distress to the public on Friday night.
It led to police enforcing a dispersal order overnight on Saturday from 6pm.
The order, under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014, gives police officers and PCSOs powers to direct people they suspect are causing or likely to cause crime, nuisance or anti-social behaviour to members of the public.
On Saturday, Inspector Mike Moys, Chorley’s Geographic Inspector, said: “Individuals who think this type of criminal behaviour is accepted or will be tolerated on our town centre are wrong.
“This behaviour will not be tolerated by us or our partner agencies.
"To bolster our existing services and powers I have made the decision to authorise a Section 34 dispersal order for the area of Chorley town centre after consultation with members of our public and Chorley Council.“
