*UPDATE: The road has now reopened*
Police have warned motorists on their morning commute about a road closure this morning (January 19).
Rossendale Police said Keighley Road in Trawden, near Colne, is closed “for the foreseeable” due to the icy weather conditions.
An update will be issued once the road has reopened.
A police spokesperson said: “Please can we make you aware that Keighley Road, Trawden, Colne is currently closed and will be for the foreseeable due to the icy conditions.
“We will update you in due course.”
The closure comes as the county faces a cold snap. A yellow weather warning for snow and ice is in place across East Lancashire until 12pm.
It’s not the only road closed this morning, according to the AA.
Cockhill Lane, in Foulridge, is closed both ways from Skipton Old Road to Noyna Road, due to construction.
In Burnley, Road closed due to long-term construction on Airdrie Crescent is also closed both ways due to long-term construction. This is between Kinross Street and Melrose Avenue.
There is also queueing traffic on A678 Blackburn Road both ways between A6185 Dunkenhalgh Way and A680 Whalley Road. In the construction area. A lane closure is in place.
In Earby, New Road from Boot Street to Victoria Road. is closed due to water mains work.
