Snow and plunging temperatures are set to hit Blackburn and other parts of East Lancashire today and later this week, according to the Met Office.
This comes after the national weather service has extended their yellow snow and ice weather warning to cover the whole of Lancashire.
The warning is in place from 12pm today (January 17) to midday on Wednesday, January 18.
Towns and cities covered by the warning have been told to expect snow showers and icy stretches that may lead to disruption.
Roads and railways may be affected by the weather, leading to longer journey times.
There may also be some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
Snow is forecast for Blackburn and wider parts of Lancashire today and Thursday, January 19.
Light snow showers are set to hit all parts of East Lancashire, including Blackburn with Darwen parts of Hyndburn, Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale and Ribble Valley.
They are set to hit at around 3pm with intermittent showers until midnight.
Snow is set to return to Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn and Pendle on Thursday, between 6am and 9am (January 19).
The Chief Forecaster said: "Snow showers will affect these areas through Tuesday afternoon and continue in many places overnight, and into Wednesday morning.
"Accumulations of a couple of centimetres are likely at low levels, with higher ground anywhere is the region potentially seeing five to 10cm, and up to 15 cm for the higher ground in northern Northern Ireland, and mid / northern Wales.
"In addition, icy stretches are likely to form following showers."

- Tuesday, January 17: Yellow weather warning for ice and snow. Light snow showers forecast at 3pm and 7pm. Highs of 2°C and lows of 0°C.
- Wednesday, January 18: Yellow weather warning for ice and snow. Sunny skies with cloudy intervals. Highs of 4°C and lows of -2°C.
- Thursday, January 19: Light snow changing to cloudy by lunchtime. Highs of 3°C and lows of -3°C.
- Friday, January 20: Light snow changing to cloudy by lunchtime. Highs of 4°C and lows of -2°C.
- Saturday, January 21: Cloudy. Highs of 5°C and lows of 3°C.
- Sunday, January 22: Overcast. Highs of 6°C and lows of 4°C.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Clear spells and wintry showers continuing, these likely falling as snow at times.
“Remaining windy, mainly around coasts and across higher ground. Staying cold with overnight frost. Minimum temperature -5 °C.”
