A terrace typical of East Lancashire’s industrial heritage complete with a third storey which would often be used for weaving and piecework attached to the local mill.
This was Hopwood Street in Burnley in 1962. The houses had been designated as being slums and, like so many other terraces, would soon be demolished.
Do you remember when terraced properties like this were commonplace? Perhaps you grew up in a traditional millworkers terrace.
Also do you know where Hopwood Street actually was in Burnley? It is no longer on the map.
