A takeaway owner from Rawtenstall has transformed their business and reopened as a café on Monday, January 9.
The Chubby Duck, a takeaway that used to operate at Ye Olde Boot and Shoe in Waterfoot, is now based at Thrive Gym in Rawtenstall.
Previously known for its burgers and pizzas the business will now operate as a café, aiming to be the go-to spot for brunch and breakfast.
Owner, Natalie Murray, said she had been considering the business transformation for a while as The Chubby Duck grew in popularity.
She said: “This is something I have always wanted and aimed for.
"We started out as a takeaway business and I am so grateful for Helen and Vito at Ye Olde Boot and Shoe for giving me a space to launch my business.
“We became so busy and I knew we needed to expand.”
It looks like a fantastic place for brunch or breakfast, with freshly baked croissants and pastries, coffees, cakes and more are on the new and improved menu.
Natalie said: “The business is completely different now and the menu is bigger.
“I am also in the process of applying for an alcohol licence meaning you will soon be able to enjoy lunch with a glass of wine.”
Seating options at the previous venue were limited which is why it operated mainly as a takeaway business.
With the new space at Thrive Gym the new business now operates solely as a dine-in business, with fresh and homemade food on the menu.
Natalie, who always dreamed of having her own business in the industry, said: “We don’t offer takeaway food at the new business.
"We are a café selling proper homecooked food using locally sourced ingredients."
Natalie is looking forward to welcoming customers old and new.
She said: “We are so excited for the new venture. It is nerve-racking but we are looking forward to it.
“We have received such a positive reaction since sharing the news to Facebook and I am actually quite overwhelmed at the level of support.”
The Chubby Duck can be found at New Hall Hey Road in Rawtenstall.
