An Oswaldtwistle pub is doing its bit for the community by selling dinners for just £1.
The Rhoden Inn, on Roe Greave Road, will be £1 selling dinners for four nights this week starting today (Monday, January 9).
The scheme will take place from 6pm to 8pm until Thursday, January 12, and all of the money raised with be donated to charity.
The pub will be working with Belly Busters café in Burnley, who will be making and supplying the meals.
Potato pie, curry, chilli and lasagne are on the menu.
Managers, Bethany Lancaster and Damian Hodgson, hope the scheme will help those working long hours or struggling with the cost of living crisis.
Bethany said: “I was raised in The Golden Cross, in Oswaldtwistle, when I was younger and they used to do 99p meals.
"I wanted to take a step back in time and bring this scheme back.
“We hope that this scheme will help everyone out, as bills are so much more expensive now and everything is always harder after Christmas.
“There is also nothing worse that doing overtime, finishing work at 7 or 8pm and then having to make tea.”
Since being posted on Facebook, the scheme has been shared more than 100 times.
Bethany said: “Things have been crazy since we made the announcement and the Facebook post has received so many shares.
“We are just a back street pub and so many people have interacted with the post
“I hope everyone can come and enjoy themselves and that this scheme will make everyone’s life a little bit easier.”
Bethany’s fiancé and the pub's co-manager, Damian, said: “The Rhoden Inn is doing their bit for the community, by giving locals a bit of well needed relief during the cost of living crisis.
“We will be putting on tea this week for anyone who needs it, no questions asked.
“We know the struggle of cooking during the week after a hard day at work and we also know how difficult things are for some at the moment
“For £1 you can come and enjoy fresh, home cooked food with us.
“We are not Michelin Star chefs we are just doing our bit for our people.”
