AS the curtain has come down on 2022 we have decided to round-up the finest venues we featured as the Pub of the Week.
We have 45 different establishments for you to choose from so read the online article (lancashiretelegraph.co.uk) and fill in the form to tell us which one deserves to be crowned ‘Lancashire Telegraph Pub of the Year 2022’.
There is plenty of choice and we want you to tell us why they deserve the crown.
Here is a round-up of all the venues and we will tell you a little about them....
In January, we featured THE ALBION in Clayton-Le-Moors which had a £80k refurbishment and found out from Daniel Bowerbank about their new beer garden.
We then went to the Ribble Valley to speak to Andrew Thompson at the WADDINGTON ARMS near Clitheroe and found out about their varied menus are available for lunch and dinner.
Some of the finest views of East Lancashire are on offer at the GREY MARE in Belthorn and we heard about how they are one of the highest pubs above sea level.
We then found out about the unbeatable late night party atmosphere and how well THE BRIDGEWATER in Darwen deliver live sport.
In February, we stayed in Darwen to find out about THE GREENFIELD where they specialise in offering Cask ales as well as making their customers feel like they are friends.
We went slightly over the border to Edgworth to find out more about the BLACK BULL which proves to be a popular venue for walkers.
The LORD NELSON in Langho was next on the list where we found out about them serving ‘quality pub grub’.
In March, we went to a pub popular with Blackburn Rovers fans - THE BROWN COW - to chat to John Meadows about just taking over the venue and how they are developing a good mix with fans and locals.
THE COALYARD in Burnley told us about their special offers and jugs of drinks as well as special discounts and their great atmosphere.
Emma Gilmartin told us about being behind the bar at THE CROWN in Accrington and their experience in 11 years in charge.
We found out about the ENTWISTLE HOTEL and history of how it used to be the home of Darwen town council meetings in the 1900s.
Then we spoke to Sean Forshaw and Erika Kuti at The WHITE BULL, in Oswaldtwistle about their menu having light bites, pub classics and an a la carte menu.
THE TAVERN in Great Harwood was the next destination where they love to see customers and staff ‘having a laugh’.
NUMBER 39 HOPSTAR BREWERY in Darwen told us about offering five hand pumps and a full menu of bands and artist every month.
In May, we heard about how ‘every day is memorable’ at THE PLOUGH in Oswaldtwistle and how the Singapore Sling was the popular drink.
The BLACK DOG in Oswaldtwistle welcomes customers of ‘all age ranges and all walks of life’ and how ‘dogs are welcome’.
Sebastian O’Rourke from the BLACK HORSE in Darwen was enjoying the first month at the pub.
There was a Royal theme at THE VICTORIA in Darwen and heard how punters can stay there for hours.
In June, we discovered the history of the 18th century WHITE HORSE in Edgworth and how they serve meals with locally sourced ingredients.
We went back to Blackburn’s HAVELOCK INN which has a great outside area to enjoy in the summer.
Jordan Hunt at THE HEYS INN in Oswaldtwistle said the worst thing about running the pub was ‘last orders’.
We then went to Ribble Valley to the BLACK BULL HOTEL in Ribchester where ‘Orla the pub dog is very much loved by the customers and gets lots of cuddles’.
The TRADERS ARMS in Mellor has become a community pub over the years and offers quiz nights every Wednesday to keep people entertained.
Good ale and food as well as a place to stay was the flavour of the day at LOWER BUCK INN AND LODGINGS at Edisford Bridge.
Goldie, a pale ale brewed on site at our micro-brewery 4 Mice Ales is the popular drink at the COACH AND HORSES in Bolton-by-Bowland.
We then heard how the DELACY ARMS in Whalley has been at the ‘heart of Whalley for many years’.
Wendy and Nick Harrop told us how it feels great to be running the traditional pub at the RANKEN ARMS in Hoddlesden.
We heard about a viral video sensation at THE ARDEN INN in Accrington when a customer went to lean on the pool table and fell.
The FORTS ARMS in Clayton-Le-Moors has its own Santa Frank and then Brad Green told us about how the pub would not be the same without the locals.
Hand-stretched pizza, loaded nachos and chicken wings were the delights of BEES KNEES in Colne.
In August, we heard about the only pub in the village of Belmont and what they offer being dog friendly and popular with motor cyclists at THE BLACK DOG.
Two lambs were in the back garden of the ROCK INN at Tockholes and found out about their meals have locally sourced foods.
Built in the mid 19th century, the ALEXANDRA HOTEL in Darwen has become a popular venue in the community.
We were told that at THE TINKER AND BUDGET in Hyndburn they are ‘compassionate about fundraising for different charities’.
We found out more about the microbar DARWEN TAP where the Peaky Blinders night was one of the highlights for the landlords.
We listened to the news at the BLACK LANE ENDS TAVERN in Colne which is a rural country pub that someone was murdered in the 1800s.
There is a very laid back and relaxed even though there is lots of live music at 303 DRINKERY in Darwen.
We spoke to the new landlord Lee Wright at the GRIFFIN’S HEAD in Huncoat and he has plans to maybe develop the outdoor space to create an area for outdoor events in the summer.
In November, we heard about THE BEER SHACK in Clitheroe which features in the Good Pub Guide.
Emma Hutchinson from the CARDWELL ARMS in Adlington told us that it was great to see the social side was the most enjoyable part of the job.
John Connelly at the BIRD IN TH’HAND in Darwen had recently been named in the CAMRA Good Food Guide and told us how they had been in charge for four years.
Customers were very much at the heart of the CROSS KEYS in Barnoldswick.
We also heard about one of East Lancashire’ s top venues in the PARKERS ARMS in Newton by Bowland which has a reputation for top food and surroundings.
The NEW INN in Bacup dates back to the 1800s and is a small pub who love to give back to the community.
Meanwhile, there is a mixture of classic pub food items, steaks, burgers, pizzas, grazers and Sunday roasts at the ACORN in Accrington.
To round off the year, we heard about THE CROWN in Bacup and how they run great events such as the May beerfest, Crown Affair and Oktoberfest.
