Update: The dog has been reunited with her owner.
Police are looking for the owners of a dog that has been found running loose.
A black and white Collie is currently in the hands of officers and is waiting to be reunited with its rightful owners.
Police say the day is likely to be a farm dog as it smells like sheep.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Has your dog escaped overnight from the Clitheroe area? A Collie has been located running loose as pictured.
“This is highly likely a farm dog, it certainly has the aroma of sheep about it. The dog is safe and well, it just wants to be back home, let's hope the power of Facebook works its magic.
“If it’s yours please contact Lancashire Police on 101 and quote Log 381 of January 1.
“Please be patient on the phone as it’s been a rather busy night. Thanks Clitheroe Neighbourhood Police.”
