A housing association has lodged prior notification with the council regarding plans to demolish a number of garages.
Together Housing Group submitted their application to Rossendale Council on December 15, notifying the planning department that it intends to demolish seven brick built garages on land at Brearley Street in Stacksteads.
The application states that the garages are in a poor state of repair and the demolition is proposed to be completed by mechanical means and then by hand.
Once demolition is complete, all waste will be removed from the site by a licensed waste contractor and then it is believed the land will be soiled and then seeded.
Demolition is scheduled to commence on February 27 and is expected to be completed by March 6.
