Three couples from Lancashire waved goodbye to the UK and set up a business abroad, for a new series of a Channel 4 show that will air in the new year.
Adam and Alicia from Lancaster, Kevin and Laura from Morecambe, and Jane and Walter from Preston will feature in the eight season of A New Life in the Sun, which starts on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Each episode will see a new wave of expats say goodbye to the UK and begin the journey of setting up new businesses in the sun.
Just how easy is it to start a new life, and is the grass really greener on the other side?
It will follow the expats as they work together to launch their ventures, from cocktail masterclasses to a boutique B&B, across a variety of locations in Spain, Portugal, Italy and France.
With the cost of living in the UK rapidly rising, many Brits are seeking some relief and new opportunities in Europe.
This season shares an insight into how expats and their businesses have adapted to a location change, and are seizing the exciting opportunities it brings.
In the series, Adam and Alicia are set to open a beachside bar in Spain and producers have remained tight-lipped about the adventures of the other two couples.
In the first episode, a Manchester couple snap up a complex of holiday lets in France and two Yorkshire restauranteurs bring a taste of the north to rural Portugal.
A New Life in the Sun will air on Channel 4, Monday January 2
