The body of a man has been pulled from a river in East Lancashire.
Police were called to Huttock End Lane in Stacksteads at around 2.10pm yesterday (Tuesday December 27) after receiving calls about a concern for welfare.
Officers and other emergency service personnel attended but sadly, a man's body was found in the river close to the Rose 'N' Bowl pub.
A large police presence was seen parked near to Rosemount Working Men's Club.
The man's death is at this time being treated as unexplained.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called to End Lane, Bacup, at 2.21pm yesterday (December 27) to reports of a concern for welfare.
"Emergency services have attended and sadly found the body of a man in the river.
"His death is currently being treated as unexplained."
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting log 601 of December 27.
