A TikTok star from Darwen says he has been given death threats in the last 24 hours after seemingly getting involved in a Twitter feud with Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
Max Balegde, who has more than three million followers on video sharing app TikTok, says he has received “hundreds” of death threats after the Love Island 2022 winner allegedly tweeted about him.
In a tweet, which is not currently available on social media, Ekin-Su allegedly said: “Oh f**k off Max. Trying to stay relevant by associating with us.
“Don’t even know who you are mate, p*** off with your TikTok, sad life.”
Max, 23, said her fans have since been sending him negative messages on social media, with some ‘threatening to kill’ him
He said: “Nothing like waking up to hundreds of Ekin-Su fans telling you ‘you have 24 hours to live’ and finding out she has tweeted about me and has personally been messaging them saying bad things about me?
“Hope everyone else is having a lovely mature day.
“I didn’t think this was actually Ekin because the account isn’t verified but turns out it is.
“Makes sense that hundreds of 12-year-olds are saying they’re going to kill me. Hope everyone is having a lovely day.”
Ekin-Su, who once studied as a University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) student, won this year's series of Love Island alongside Davide Sanclimenti, and the pair are still in a relationship.
Max recently launched The Useless Hotline Podcast with another TikTok star, George Clarke.
On a recent episode the latest episode he talked about celebrities who might be in fake relationships.
Max did not mention specific names or details.
He said: “There’s possibly one relationship that is very prominent in the UK media, that I happen to know is definitely not real.
“I met the person who was in it and they were quite nice to me but they said something that would indicate they are not in a relationship with said person.
“If you go for a run and paparazzi are there… that's staged.
“When there are people who are off a reality TV show, that are maybe all about them being in a couple, they have to keep that up for the sake [of it].
“A lot of the time it’s a business relationship which is so mad to me.”
Max’s and Ekin Su’s management teams have been approached for comment.
