A Blackburn mum is set to open a new bakery in the New Year and speciality sandwiches and more are on the menu.
Becky’s Bakery, on Whalley New Road in Ramsgreave, will take over Wild Flour Bakery in 2023.
29-year-old Becky Hobkirk hopes to open the family-run business on January 9, 2023 and can't wait to welcome members of the community.
She said: We’ve been in there for the last couple of weeks decorating and cleaning ahead of its opening in 2023.
“I used to work at Woods Craft Bakery just up the road in Brownhill and I loved working there."
Becky said she wanted a business venture of her own, which is why she and some family members invested in the vacant Wild Flour Bakery.
She said: "As time went on myself and my family decided to invest in Wild Flour and make it our own.
“We recieved a great offer and here we are. We are so excited to open.”
Breakfasts, pies, artisan bread, pies, soup and cakes are just some of the food items that will feature on the menu.
Speciality sandwiches, such as turkey and chorizo, and hot beef and caramelised onion with gravy, are just some of the fillings that will feature.
The mum-of-two said she can’t wait to get started, despite the current cost of living crisis.
She said: “We can’t wait to get started and are so excited. I can’t wait to meet the community and all of the lovely people.
“We posted this update to a Facebook page and the response has been amazing, I couldn’t have asked for better comments.
“We were nervous to open a business in the cost of living crisis as you never know what the future holds, but we are feeling very positive right now.”
Since announcing the news on social media, dozens of people have offered words of support to Becky.
One person said: "Wishing you success, good luck."
Another said: "Best wishes in your new venture."
"We've missed Wild Flour. Will look forward to you opening," said a third.
Becky’s Bakery is set to open on Monday, January 9, 2023.
