A burst pipe in an East Lancs village left water shooting into the air overnight.
United Utilities are now on the site in Helmshore and are in the process of fixing the leak.
A status update on the water provider's website says: “Our team of engineers are on site repairing the problem which may be causing an issue with your water supply.
"We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and will get this fixed as quickly as we can.”
Residents have been periodically left without water during the repairs.
One comment in a Facebook group said: “I phoned UU at 4.15pm (Monday) to say we had no water on Limewood and was told the workmen were digging up at that time and he didn’t think it would be too long.
"I presumed it was the little leak at the end of Limewood but they don’t seem to be working there either so not sure what he was talking about!”
Another said: “Ours is off too - Granville Street - just wish they'd give notification only just enough water in the filter to make a brew!”
United Utilities has been contacted for further comment.
