Here's everything you need to know about how to secure tickets for the new ice rink opened for a limited time over Christmas in Burnley.

The people of Burnley can now glide into Christmas after the town’s very own synthetic Ice Rink opened to the public over the weekend.

Located on St James’s Street near Wilko, the rink launched on Saturday (December 17) and is open until Friday, December 10 from 10am to 4pm.

All equipment is provided for the ticket price of £5 and there is no age limit, although children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult and children and babies must not be carried on the ice.

Brought to the town by the Burnley Business Improvement District (BID), the rink is being sponsored by Burnley Leisure, Burnley Pantomime Society, Holiday Inn Express Burnley, Anchor Group Services and Birchall Foodservice.

Burnley BID Project Manager Andrew Dean is delighted that the rink is now open and hopes people from around the town and further afield come to enjoy some skating and also make some time to visit Burnley’s businesses.

He said: “Ice skating is a lovely festive activity that is sure to get you into the Christmas spirit so why not come along with friends and family and enjoy some frozen fun?

“You could make a full trip of your visit too by maybe doing some Christmas shopping or stopping for a winter warmer in one of our many fantastic bars, cafes, pubs or restaurants. There’s lots to discover in Burnley, especially at Christmas time, and there’s never been a more important time to support local.”

Tickets can be purchased through the Burnley Mechanics Theatre website, in person via their ticket office or by calling 01282 664400. You can get your tickets online now by visiting: https://bit.ly/3BIyHTK.
