A man is to appear in court after subjecting a blind woman to sexually motivated comments and then assaulting her partner.
On Tuesday, officers from the British Transport Police were alerted to the incident, which happened on Preston train station.
An investigation was launched and after viewing evidence of the crime from CCTV footage, a 29-year-old man was located at the station on Thursday and arrested.
Yesterday (Friday December 16) he was charged with assault and two public order offences.
He was due to appear in court this morning (Saturday December 17).
A spokesperson for the BTP said on Friday: "On Tuesday a blind woman at Preston was subjected to salacious comments by a male who also assaulted her partner.
"The incident was reported to us and an investigation started.
"On Thursday an officer at Preston viewed CCTV of the crime and a short while later, on foot patrol of the station, spotted the suspect and he was arrested.
"A 29-year old male has today (December 16) been charged with one assault and two public order offences.
"He has been remanded in custody for court tomorrow (Saturday December 17)."
