Live music acts at a football club’s supporters bar have been cancelled due to “excessive noise complications”.

Six live music performances at Accrington Stanley’s Coley’s bar, on Livingstone Road in Accrington, have been cancelled until the noise issues have been addressed.

The football club is working with noise reduction specialists and Hyndburn Council to find a resolution.

The six cancelled live band events include:

  • Definitely Mightbe - Friday 27th January.
  • Top of the Pops - Friday 24th February.
  • Queen Heaven - Saturday 25th March.
  • Ska Madness - Friday 28th April.
  • Bootleg Blondie - Friday 9th June.

A club spokesperson said: “Accrington Stanley are currently experiencing excessive noise complications during their monthly live band events in Coley's.

“The club are working with noise reduction specialists and Hyndburn Borough Council to solve the issues which emanate from low frequency noise (bass and drums).

“Whilst the issues are being addressed, the six scheduled monthly live band events have unfortunately had to be cancelled.

“Once the noise problems have been addressed the live events will be reintroduced.”

A spokesperson from Hyndburn Council said: “Hyndburn Council have received noise nuisance complaints as a result of live music events at Coley's Bar.

“This is being investigated, as per the council’s statutory duty, and our officers are working closely with ASFC and local residents.

“The decision to cancel some upcoming events has been taken by ASFC and they have appointed specialist acoustic consultants to assist with investigations.”

Anyone who has purchased tickets for any of the cancelled events should contact the retail shop on 01254 356950 for a refund.
