Weather forecasters say more snow could be heading to parts of East Lancashire later this week as the ‘big freeze’ continues.
According to forecasters at The Weather Channel, Blackburn with Darwen and other parts of Lancashire are expected to get more of the white stuff at the end of the week.
This is after snow hit the region at the weekend.
At the time of writing, snow is forecast towards the end of the week and temperatures are not expected to climb beyond 1°C and could dip as low as -6°C.
Forecasters at The Weather Channel say there is a 60 per cent chance of snow showers on Friday (December 16), which are expected to develop in the afternoon. Temperatures could drop to -3°C.

Snow is also forecast on Saturday December 17 and there is a 71 per cent chance of seeing the white stuff, although it is expected to be less than 2cm deep.
The Met Office has a conflicting forecast and predict cloudy skies and sleet showers on Friday and into the weekend.
Here is the weekly weather forecast for Blackburn according to The Weather Channel:
- Tuesday December 13: Morning clouds followed by afternoon sun. Widespread frost likely. High of 0ºC. Temperatures could dip to -6ºC overnight.
- Wednesday December 14: Generally clear. Hard freeze expected. Highs of 1ºC.
- Thursday December 15: Generally clear. Hard freeze expected. Highs of 0ºC.
- Friday December 16: Snow showers could develop in the afternoon. It will continue to feel very cold. Highs of 0ºC. Lows of -3ºC.
- Saturday December 17: Around a 70 per cent chance of snow. It will continue to feel very cold. Highs of 1ºC. Lows of -2ºC.
- Sunday December 18: A mix of rain and snow. Highs of 2ºC and lows of 1 ºC.
- Monday December 19: Light rain. Highs of 7ºC and lows of 2ºC.
