The only way was up as far as housing in Blackburn was concerned in the Sixties. This photo shows the tower cranes and the new high rise flats under construction in the Queens Park area of the town in 1967.
Across Blackburn a series of tower blocks would be built in this period as many of the traditional terraces which were in need of major upgrades were demolished.
Did you live in one of the Queens Park flats? We'd love to hear your memories of what life was like in these new homes.
