A man has been charged with counts of shoplifting and burglary after shops in Burnley were targets for a shoplifting spree.
Several shops and businesses within Charter Walk Shopping Centre have fallen victim to thefts over the last few weeks.
Yesterday (December 8), police tracked down Joshua Whalley in Burnley town centre and charged the man with three counts of shoplifting and one count of burglary.
Whalley is due to appear in Magistrates’ court today over the alleged offences.
PC Harris said: “Over the last three weeks, there have been several thefts from shops and businesses within Charter Walk Shopping Centre and the wider town centre.
“Yesterday, we located Joshua Whalley within the town centre following extensive work by the Town Centre Neighbourhood Team, Whalley has now been charged with three counts of shoplifting and one count of burglary.
“He has been remanded to appear before the Magistrates today. Please continue to report shoplifting offences to us.
“Lancashire Police will continue to proactively target criminals, especially over the festive period.”
