Videos which appear to show an attempted robbery are being circulated on social media in Blackburn, but viewers are being warned they are unrelated to a Blackburn stabbing incident, which it's wrongly claimed they show.
On Wednesday, police said two women were stabbed in the neck in Pleck Farm Avenue, Blackburn, at around 8pm on Tuesday (December 6) and were rushed to hospital. T
heir injuries have been described as not life-threatening, and a man was arrested.
Officers are treating this as an isolated incident and say there is no wider threat to the public.
Since then people have been sharing videos of an attempted robbery filmed on a doorbell camera in which a man pretends to deliver a package.
When the door is opened a woman can be heard screaming as several other thieves rush through the front door.
This footage is believed to be from a completely unrelated incident in another city and may have occurred last week.
Other videos and photos showing a police scene have also been circulated.
The footage was being incorrectly shared alongside images of Pleck Farm Avenue, and anyone who has been sent the footage should be aware it does not depict the incident in Blackburn on Tuesday night.
