With the ongoing row surrounding the Qatar World Cup, there is at least one thing that FIFA has said right. It says football should stay out of politics and concentrate on the game.

In English football in recent years, we’ve had virtue signalling galore. Poppies on shirts, BLM logos, taking the knee, campaigns for free school meals in the holidays, rainbow laces and terrible campaign adverts during the women’s Euros.

But now the politics and virtue signalling is being exposed for the fraud it is.

Wokeism is the false belief that your opinions make you morally superior to those who don’t share those views. But the hypocrisy related to FIFA World Cup 2022 has exposed the myth once and for all.
