East Lancashire radio presenter, Jordan North, says he has been left “looking like a Lego man” after a trip to the barber.
Jordan, from Burnley, was fuming at paying £65 for the botched haircut after straying from his usual venue.
He opened up about the story on the Help I Sexted My Boss podcast, which he co-hosts with William Hanson.
He said: “Before I went away I cheated on my barber which was a mistake – don’t ever cheat on your barber
“The week before I was going away he was going away and you’ve got to have your hair cut before holiday.”
Jordan, who hosts the drivetime show on BBC Radio 1, likened the barber to Sweeney Todd and said they made him look like a “Lego man”.
He said: “I am very picky. He put a curve in my beard which I hate
“He made me look like a Lego man because he boxed it off and stuff and he was really rough.
“It was over really quickly as well, I felt really dirty afterwards”
To top it off Jordan said he paid £60 for the haircut, plus £5 tip, which is triple what he usually pays.
He said: “My normal barber puts a bit of talc and moisturiser on because he knows I have sensitive skin.
“This one was chopping away like Sweeney Todd and he charged me £65 for the privilege.
“I usually only pay £20 odd. Back up north I would pay £16 or £17 for a haircut.
“He didn’t even touch the top of my hair I told him to leave that alone. He saw me coming from a mile off.
“It was quite a fancy one to be fair it was a chain but still, £65!?”
On the podcast the Clarets fan also reveal he once met former Burnley player Andy Payton, also known as the Padiham Predator.
Etiquette consultant William, who had never heard of Andy before, was confused by his nickname.
Jordan said: “He was really nice and he was called the Padiham Predator because he used to score like 20 goals a season.
“Any Burnley fans listening will know him
“Saying [the Padiham Predator] out loud sounds weird. Looking back I can’t believe we called him that.”
William said: “I don’t think that nickname has stood the test of time.”
