Wheatsheaf Hotel, Blackburn, 1967
Here’s a building which is very much back in the news. Last week a new Best Western Hotel - Hotel 99 - opened in Blackburn.
It is in the premises of the former Wheatsheaf Hotel pictured here in 1967.
The Wheatsheaf on Mincing Lane had been a coaching inn from the late 18th century and stood on the corner with St Peter Street. The Wheatsheaf would later become The Stage Door which closed in 2017.
