A shop that supplies uniforms to children across East Lancashire has closed but has something exciting lined up for 2023.

Grays Schoolwear, on Castle Street in Clitheroe, has closed and is currently in the process of removing fixtures and fittings.

The business is relocating to a bigger premises, which is set to open in 2023.

Co-owner of the family business, Paul Wilding, said he is excited for the new venture.

He said: “The Castle Street shop is closed but we are relocating to a different and a bigger venue.

“We are currently in the process of moving all the fixtures and fittings and think we will be out of the Castle Street premises by the end of the month.”

The Clitheroe site has been open for seven years and Paul said he will miss the scenic town and friendly neighbours.

He said: “We are a bit sad as we have been on Castle Street for around seven years.

“It’s such a beautiful place and we have gotten on well with the neighbours so I am gutted about that side of things.

“But wea are excited about the plans we have for the future.”

Grays’ Blackburn shop, on Northgate, will remain open and the business is also available for online deliveries.
