A person is being treated by ambulance service following a crash on Long Level in Cowan Bridge in Carnforth.
Emergency services rushed to the incident which involved one vehicle at around 1pm today (October 31).
Ambulance crews attended including the air ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.
One patient, a male, was transferred by air ambulance to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with injuries to his chest.
Two fire engines from Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale were called to the scene.
The casualty was assessed at the scene by Fire Service Trauma Technicians before being handed over to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
Firefighters used one hose reel and a paratech struts to extinguish the fire and cut the person out the vehicle. Crews remain in attendance.
A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1:13pm today to reports of an road traffic collision in Cowan Bridge.
"Ambulance crews attended including the air ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.
"One patient, a male, was transferred by air ambulance to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with injuries to his chest."
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 12:55 on October 31, 2022, two fire engines from Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale attended a road traffic collision on Long Level, Cowan Bridge.
“The incident involved one vehicle. One casualty was assessed at the scene by Fire Service Trauma Technicians before being handed over to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters used one hose reel and a paratech struts to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance.
“We are working with the Environment Agency and other partner agencies in a multi-agency response to the incident.”
