An adorable puppy has been announced as the newest member of the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service team.
Kygo is a Belgian Malinois puppy and is currently in training to save human lives.
She is only eight-weeks-old but has already started her training to become an area search Dog, as well as an urban search and rescue (USAR) dog.
Over the next two years she will learn to locate casualties, and clear areas, in collapsed and partially collapsed structures and buildings.
She will also help find those who are missing from home in rural areas and need to be located swiftly.
The fire service’s current search dog, Davey, is still in his prime and will work with Kygo as she learns the ropes.
A spokesperson for Fire Search Dogs said: “While our boy Davey is still very much in his prime he will eventually have to learn how to put his paws up - and when ready Kygo will, hopefully, assist him in doing so.”
Hundreds of people are excited about Kygo’s arrival and have wished the pup luck in her career.
Hannah Greenwood said: “Kygo you are adorable. Good luck training with best of the best.”
Julie Withers said: “Kygo looks intelligent, she’s taking it all in. Look forward to hearing how her training goes.”
“What a beauty and the best breed there is,” said another. “Love mine, they are so intelligent and loyal.”
