You don’t need to spend a fortune to keep the kids entertained this Halloween half term because there’s an array of free activities across Blackburn.
The Mall, Blackburn BID and Blackburn Market are hosting exciting Halloween events throughout the week.
The out of this world fun kicks off tomorrow (Saturday, October 22) with a line up you can’t miss out on, starting with an exciting YouTube star meet and greet.
Families will also have the opportunity to meet, and take pictures with the famous kids YouTube star JJ from CoComelon.
Britain’s Got Talent super-sized semi-finalist, Titan the Robot, will also be making special appearances at The Mall on Saturday, October 29.
Titan’s TV appearances include Britain’s Got Talent, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Big Brother, The Secret Life of a 5-Year-Old and The Gadget Show.
On the first day, kids can enjoy a whole host of exciting extra-terrestrial arts and crafts including making flying rockets, climbing robots, finger spies, glitter tattoos and plenty more.
Families can join in the free drop-in workshops on King William Street where the pumpkins and tools will be provided free of charge on Saturday, October 22 from 11am to 4pm.
There will also be a live pumpkin carve on a giant pumpkin throughout the day.
On Saturday, October 29, a family-friendly Trick or Treat Trail around Blackburn Town Centre will take people across five locations.
Halloween characters who will give participants a letter that makes up a five-letter word and everyone that unscrambles the letters and hands the completed trail map in at the Ask Me Point in The Mall Blackburn will receive a Halloween ‘treat’.

Adults and older children can join a ghoulish ghost walk at the Town Hall Square on Saturday, October 29 at 6pm.
The evening will include terrifying characters that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, as well as spooky stories, scary moments, and riddles ghoul-ore.
For those who want something less creepy and more creative, artist Becky Atherton will be hosting an arts and craft day where kids can get hands on and make some autumnal animal masks on Monday, October 24 between 11am and 4pm.
